About the Project
Hurricane Helene Debris Assessment
When Hurricane Helene struck in September, it left thousands of residents in Columbia and Richmond County without power and created widespread utility-related damage throughout the region. To help restore safety and order to the community, Augusta’s Engineering & Environmental Services Department turned to Current Edge Solutions for support.
Our role was to provide a comprehensive assessment of storm-related debris across city streets and rights of way. Over the course of just eight weeks, our team identified and documented more than 1,000 locations requiring attention. This work was critical in guiding cleanup crews, ensuring hazards were removed quickly, and helping utility providers restore essential services.
By combining technical expertise with a rapid, boots-on-the-ground approach, CES was able to support Augusta’s recovery efforts and contribute to the city’s return to normal operations. The project reflects our commitment to delivering reliable solutions when communities need them most.
